Sam Riegel and Rob Blatt are an award-winning writing & directing team specializing in comedy, music and reality.   


Sam grew up in New York City where he worked as a child actor on Broadway.  Rob was raised in Potomac, Maryland and went through a heavy metal phase.  They met at the University of Virginia and sang in an award-winning a cappella group, The Academical Village People.  


Sam and Rob’s TV credits include NBC’s “The Sing Off”, MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew”, Comedy Central’s “AtomTV”, SpikeTV’s “Order of the Serpentine”, and Fox’s “The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”.  They are recipients of the Austin Film Festival’s top prize for sit-com writing.


The duo has written, produced & directed web series for Comedy Central, Comedy.com, and Funny Or Die.  They also served as head writers for MSN.com’s reality series “The Tastemaker”.  In 2009 they received the Telly Award for commercial comedy video writing.  


Sam and Rob’s original shorts have been official selections at numerous film festivals, including the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, the California Independent Film Festival, and the LA Comedy Shorts Festival.


Their live comedy music show has been featured at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, The Chicago Improv Festival, The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, San Francisco SketchFest, Seattle SketchFest, and the LA Comedy Festival.  


Sam and Rob both reside in Silver Lake, CA, with their wives and children.
